We're Actively Buying/Trading Used Guitars
Have a guitar that you want to sell or trade? Let us know! Many guitar shops these days are limiting their intake of used guitars, but there's a good chance that we can help you out. Here's some guidelines on what we are looking for:
Condition: Guitars must be in very good condition, at a minimum. No headstock breaks, no major damage to the body or neck, no missing manufacturer logos, etc.
Brands: There are hundreds of guitar brands on the market, but the reality is that many of them are relatively unknown. For example, Amazon sells a lot of import guitars from brands that few people have heard of. We look for guitars from established brands like Fender, Squier, G&L, Gibson, Epiphone, Paul Reed Smith, MusicMan, Sterling, Ibanez, Jackson, Charvel, Schecter, ESP, LTD, Gretsch, Rickenbacker, EVH, Yamaha, etc. Let us know what you have and we'll give you a fair evaluation.
Vintage guitars: There's a lot that goes into the evaluation of vintage guitars, but we love the guitars from the '50s, '60s, and '70s. Guitars from the '80s are pretty much considered vintage now, so fluorescent pink and highlighter yellow guitars are ok too.
Basses: The same guidelines for guitars applies to basses as well.
Acoustic guitars: We have to be more selective with acoustic guitars because build quality and choice of materials used are very important to the tone, playability, and lifespan of the guitar. We generally stick with the well-established brands here as well.
Amps and effects: Amps just aren't cost-effective for shipping, since many of our customers are outside the Olympia area. There may be some exceptions, like vintage Fenders or Marshalls, but we can discuss it. Effects pedals are welcomed!
Determining Value
Every guitar is evaluated on its own merits. We consider the current condition, the current market value, any modifications or upgrades, and any extras that come with it (case, extra pickups, etc.) Then we factor in current market demand for similar guitars and provide you with a dollar value estimate for the guitar. Estimates are good for 14 days and assume the guitar remains in the condition it was in during the evaluation.
Getting Paid
Once we make a deal, payment to you can be in the form of store credit or electronic funds transfer like PayPal or CashApp.
